Newsletter #9 from highways contractors at Crosskeys Roundabout
Progress since 16th August
During the last two weeks we have completed the verge work outside M&S garage and between the A38 from Stroud/Whitminster, with the footway/cycleway now ready for the surface to be laid.
The central reservation between the A38 toward/from Gloucester is also well underway, with the new kerb line and sub-surface installed.
The central reservation on the A38 from/towards the M5 (previously the B4008) has been cleared, ready for the new kerbs and layout changes to be installed.
New road signs have also been installed at various locations along the site
The footway on the A38 from the M5 (previously the B4008) has also been constructed, ready for the final surface course.
There will be off-peak lane closures on the A38 to/from the M5 in the day to allow us to continue to work safely in that area. We will also be continuing with the surfacing programme in various areas of the site, including; the verge outside M&S, the verge of the A38 from Cross Keys Roundabout toward Gloucester and the footway outside McDonalds.
In the week commencing 9th September we will be removing the barriers from the Northbound arm of the A38 toward Gloucester from Cross Keys Roundabout, which will be undertaken at night with lane 2 closed to protect the workforce. The final phase of sign installation will also be completed during that week.
As we progress with these important improvements, your patience is greatly appreciated.
If you have any concerns or issues regarding the roundabout improvement scheme, please contact me on 03301 071484*. I will be available throughout the construction phase to provide continuous engagement with businesses and residents within the local area.
