Newsletter #4 from highways contractors at Crosskeys Roundabout.
Progress since 7th June
During the last two weeks we have installed the retaining wall and drainage along the A38 approach from the M5 (previously the B4008).
We’ve completed the temporary surface on the inside lane of the roundabout and installed drains near the site of the old Cross Keys Pub. We’ve also set up a temporary safety barrier along the A38 approach to Cross Keys from Gloucester to keep crews safe.
Work will continue along the retaining wall to install streetlight and traffic signal ducting, along with kerb laying, in preparation for the new lane. We are also due to start in the verge between the A38 approach to Cross Keys from Hardwicke and the A38 toward Gloucester to remove the top layer of soil and install drainage.
In the week commencing 3rd July we will need to close lane 1 of the A38 approach from the M5 (previously B4008) off-peak (09:30 – 15:30) for BT utility works in the verge.
As we progress with these important improvements, your patience is greatly appreciated.
