Volunteers needed for a Hunts Grove Community Project

From: Sandra – Project Coordinator

The roundabout at the entrance to Marconi Drive is not landscaped and is laid to grass.  As this is the main entrance to Hunts Grove, wouldn’t it be great to have some colour and interest there.

Get involved – let’s get this community project off the ground!!

We are looking for volunteers that would be keen to be involved.  The actual implementation work will either take place this Autumn or Spring next year – yet to be decided.  So, whether your talents are project management, gardening, designing or anything else you think would help, just express an interest on the HGRA facebook page, website or via [email protected]

We are also planning to get the Hunts Grove children involved in the design by way of a competition with the school – we will publish details shortly.  It would be wonderful for this project to include all who want to be involved.

The Gloucestershire Highways department have been contacted and subject to the design it looks as though we will get a licence to carry out landscaping on the said roundabout.

Crest have also been very supportive of the Community Project and offered some finance towards it.  They have also offered the services of their landscaping designers to help come up with the final design.

We are contacting local firms to secure more funding.  It looks likely that we will secure funds without having to use fundraising events.

So for now all we need is for the Hunts Grove community to come forward to offer their support and talents.
